Residential Information

Van Nuys High School was established in 1915 as a residential school. Since then it has undergone numerous and diverse changes during it's 81 year history. The school has accumulated an impressive record of academic achievements, outstanding civic record, excellence in athletics, and recognition in the arts.

Van Nuys has a strong academic program. The core curriculum and elective courses provide all students with an opportunity to complete high school graduation requirements and to develop their greatest potential so that they will be able to pursue post secondary academic and career goals. It is from the residential school that the three magnets grew into what they are today.

Van Nuys High School maintains it's philosophy to provide a high caliber of world-relevant education to all students in a supportive and challenging environment which recognizes individual talents, background and needs.
